The game will be played using the standard rules for Warhammer 40,000: Apocalypse and Warhammer 40,000: Planetstrike with the following Modifications:

1) You may field an army of any size and any composition. Please see the Introduction thread for an explanation of the types, available strategems/strategic assets and other options that you may pick for armies of different sizes. You may utilize any strategem/strategic asset from any official GW source except for Flank March. Players who have Flank March granted to them by an Apocalypse datasheet simply are unable to use it. Fans may not create their own Strategems/strategic assets.

a) All players must bring a complete army list of all units they are fielding with them. One copy of this list will be turned in to carry out official record calculations.

b) All players will be assigned a team (A or B) when they arrive. Teams will LOOSELY be Imperium v. everyone else.

2) Optional rules from various rulebooks will not be in effect unless indicated in this thread.

3) In the event of Rules disagreement, the following hierarchy will always be followed with higher precedent rules taking effect.

a) Siegeworld House Rules and Datasheets
b) The 40K, Apocalypse, Apocalypse Reloaded, and Imperial Armor Apocalypse I and II rulebooks
c) Individual army codexes
d) Imperial Armor main rulebooks (1-8)
c) Datasheets published in White Dwarf or on Games Workshop's/Forgeworld's website
d) other fan rules (this game specifically includes and allows BoLS Lords of Battle codex, the Tempestus Fugatives Codexes, and UNITS from the Tempestus Fugatives Age of the Emperor rulesets (may not use primarchs or named characters, everything else is fine)

4) Players may create their own datasheets of units and formations. Information on how to submit these and what are official datasheets for Storm the Citadel will be posted in due time.

5) All turns will have strict time limits, items not carried out within the time limits do not happen and opportunites are missed. Be prepared to make your most important shooting/assaults first. THis is to represent the difficulty in corrdinating a large force vs. a small one.

6) The game will be played on one gigantic battlefield. However, each player will be assigned a drop zone which is effectively the only table edge they are considered to have. Events which effect everything on the table (or similar) only effect the "table" which is defined as the space between the two shortest lines from the ends of your table edge to the nearest opposing table edge. THis means your table, and your opponent's may be different sized. The battlefield is on the floor. Players shall not walk on the battlefield except through designated walkways.

7) Units may cross over/shoot over walkways (which are chasms). However any unit which ends its turn on a walkway is immediately destroyed. You may shoot at units off your table and move units off your table (to adjacent tables) if they are able to do so. Note that if you leave your table, any effect whcih effects all your troops on the table DOES NOT effect them.

8) Units which deep strike may only deepstrike onto the controller's "table", or onto the Citadel's main gun table. The Citadel's main gun table is only available to deepstrike on if you have a "prepare to assault" landing card that has not been used and there is a free entrance to the table.

9) There will be a large number of terrain features on the battlefield which will count as objectives of variable value (from 1 to 5 points). The Team with the most objective points at the end of the game wins.

10) House Rules:

a) Any weapon which is strength "D" has a 1 size reduction in template diameter from the published rules. Thus if the rules say it has a 10" template it has a 7" template, a 7" template has a 5" template, a 5" template has a 3" template, and a 3" template uses a large infantry (2") model base as its template. In Siegeworld datasheets, the template will be listed as (for example) "7"/5" template" to show that the adjustment has already been made and the smaller size listed should be used. If it is not listed with the double number, the template size is reduced in Siegeworld units also.

b) Titan Close combat weapons on Reaver and Warlord titans may hit vehicles and monstrous creatures that the titan is engaged with in addition to any other type of model they are allowed to strike. Further, should any future war machine walker include rules preventing it from striking vehicles or monstrous creatures, that model is allowed to strike vehicles or monstrous creatures in base contact. Restrictions on striking infantry models are still valid.

b(i)) Reaver Titans fielded using the BoLS Lords of Battle "Hun" or "Goth" pattern rules have armor 13 on the rear (same as the Forgeworld Reaver). The only difference is the weaponry. This allows Armorcast models to meet the strict WYSIWYG rule without causing too many rules disputes.

c) The "Crashing Flyer" rules in IAA2 will be used (Copies will be available).

d) All weapons with the "Interceptor" rule are considered to have "AA mount" instead. Units with the "AA mount" special rule may target a single deep striking unit as soon as it appears on the battlefield. If they do so, the weapon may not fire the immediately following turn.

e) Flyers do not automatically fly off the table, but must fly at least 36 inches during their movement phase if they do not (unless they have a hover mode and have chosen to engage it).

f) Tau DO NOT have to take their leadership checks when an ethereal dies unless the ethereal belonged to the same player as the Tau in question AND they were on the same table at the time it occurs.

g) Movement trays:

It is HIGHLY Recommended that players with infantry heavy armies provide for movement trays for them to be moved on. As turns will be subject to strict time limits, you may otherwise waste a lot of time moving around. If you choose to use movement trays, the following rules apply to them.
i) All models in a unit (including vehicle squadrons) or formation may be placed on the same tray. Different formations should be on different trays. Different units may be on the same tray if they are in the same formation (although this is not required), otherwise they should be on different trays.
ii) No model on a movement tray ever blocks LOS for any other model on the same tray. Thus you may target different units on the same tray.
iii) Models and trays should be arranged so that they are in suqad coherancy. Models should be removed from trays to maintain coherancy whenever possible.
iv) templates are used against models on trays as normal against units.
v) A tray moves at the slowest movement rate of any model on it. If multiple models require rolling to determine their movement rate (e.g. always move as if in difficult), you roll once using the WORST movement possibility (e.g. if one unit rolls 2D6 take the highest and one rolls 1D6, simply roll 1D6)
v) If a unit/formation on a tray is involved in an assault where the tray is in base contact with an enemy unit, EVERY model on the same tray is presumed to be in base contact with the enemy unit regardless of how far away they may be. For purposes of Independent Characters or other individuals in a unit which may be separately targeted, they are presumed to be in base contact with any and every unit etc. that they wish to be in base contact with or that wish to be in base contact with them. An IC that does not wish to be on a tray, may still join a squad and be placed beside/in front of/behind the tray. If you do so, they are considered part of the squad, but are only in base contact as normal. If the IC not on the tray is in base contact with a unit/tray and his attached tray is not, the tray the IC is on is NOT in Close combat with the enemy, only the IC is.
NOTE: Trays are lethal as you can face off against orcs/nids throwing a few hundred dice in one assault. This is apocalypse at a massive scale. That is part of the idea as it helps increase the casualties and speed up the game. At the same time, big trays can get HAMMERED by big multi-template weapons.
SECOND NOTE: The best way to counter an enemy tray is with one (or more) of your own (or titan cannons). I think I said trays are encouraged...
vi) Other than ICs, no model on a tray may ever leave the tray, unless its a casualty or is effected by something which clearly only effects it.
vii) Any effect which effects every model in a unit, if if effects a unit on a tray, effects every model on the same tray. Yes, wierdboys can send 500 orks careening around the battlefield and psychic powers can send battle companies scampering. Set up your trays carefully.

h) Valkyries/Vendettas and Blood Angel Storm Ravens are flyers with hover mode as opposed to skimmers as contemplated in IAA. This will hold true should other obvious aircraft be released as skimmers in GW main codexes.

i) Deepstriking units do not place a representative model on the table. Instead they indicate a target point and then roll for scatter. The target point MAY be on or within 1" of an enemy model. However, should a hit be rolled in such a situation, it is considered a mishap with the same effect as if the deepstriking unit had scattered there. This rule is to deal with the deepstrike questions involving the Mawlok. It may be targeted to bring in the template on a target unit on a hit (because the Overfiend thinks it should be able to and I write the rules here).

j) Deathstrike missiles, doomsday devices, pulsa rockets, and other "terrain" models. This rule effects any unit which is an immobile 1 shot platform that once used has no other effect. Once used, the model may be removed from the game to clear up space on the battlefield.

k) All models are treated as STRICT WYSIWYG when it comes to upgrades/wargear. Appropriate conversions are acceptable as is placing an upgrade within the same unit (but not necessarily on the right model). E.g. a Space Marine assault squad's sgt.'s meltabombs may be represented by having a meltabomb on a member of the squad, but not necessarily the sgt. Strategems and other apocalypse or planetstrike granted "upgrades" do not have to be modeled.

Please note: For those fielding Armorcast Reaver titans, the weapons on a titan are treated as strict wysiwyg. Thus, if original Armorcast ranged arm weapons are used, the titan has to be fielded as a Hun or Goth variant pursuant to BoLS Lords of Battle rules (that is the arms weapons are those from the warhound). In order to field a Reaver titan using the Forgeworld rules, either i) a Forgeworld model is used, ii) an armorcast model is used with converted arm weapons which are clearly different from the original Armorcast designs or iii) the Reaver must be a scratchbuilt and obviously be intended to use the Forgeworld rules.

l) Models painted in an offical GW paint scheme which is associated with a particular set of rules, must use those rules in their entirety. E.g. a Black Templars painted land raider crusader uses the land raider crusader rules in the Black Templar codex.
i) Items sharing a common paint scheme must share rules, but may use any. E.g. a completely custom space marine chapter may use the Dark Angel rules, but can ONLY use the Dark Angel rules (subject to item ii below).
ii) should a player provide a unit painted in their paint scheme which is NOT in their codex, they use the most basic rules for that unit. E.g. a Black Templars painted Land Raider Redeemer (a unit not in the Black Templars codex) uses the rules in Codex: Space Marines (as opposed to, for example, the rules in Codex: Blood Angels).

m) Area terrain is back. If an entire area is designated as an area, a unit not within the terrain cannot see a unit which is also not within the terrain if the terrain is between them. If either unit is within the terrain, LOS is drawn normally.

n) Certain types of terrain may be designated as War Machine Dangerous terrain. This terrain is dangerous terrain for war machines or gargantuan creatures. It is open terrain for infantry unless otherwise specified. Depending on the nature of the terrain it may also be Vehicle Dangerous terrain (dangerous to vehicles and monstrous creatures), may be impassible terrain for them, or may be open terrain for them.

The newer apocolypse rules state that a flyer must move at least 36" are we doing that considering that it is the newest rules?
